Zinc lamellated coating
Currently in the industry there is a great emphasis on all sorts of coatings (either on the field of manufacturing tools, finished products or fastening elements ) with which the lifetime, resistance against environmental impacts of the products can be radically increased. By the fastening elements the usually typical coating is the normal zinc spelter (maybe with additional varnish coating), or zink - nickel. This year, our company has fastened its relations with an austrian coating developer company who created a new coating, the zinc lamella. The most important advantages are that it has defined frictional properties, provides good cohesion, has high resistance against chemicals, doesn't damage electrical conductivity and outstanding resistance against salt spray (rusting resistance) (>1.000h) can be reached with extreme thin layer (8-12µm). Furthermore it is outstanding that its impact on the environment is insignificant compared to the previously described coatings, as there is no need for chemical preparations, mixing or solving in chemicals, as a result there is no sewage. Not least to mention, it is possible to produce it in any colour for the customers' requirements.
The coating consist of two layers, a base and a cover. The application of these layers takes place in a special dipping centirfuge, designed and manufactured by our company, where the desired thickness of the layer can be controlled by the predefined time. Between the application of the layers it is necessary to dry in/burn in, which takes place on 220°C in a tunnel type oven.
The possible application fields of the coating, where the beneficial properties can predominate:
- Automotive industry: The continous development of the manufacturing methods in the automotive industry sets ever greater expectations in terms of layer thickness, heat resistance, bolting properties. A few tipical products where the coating can be beneficial: seatbelt buckles, brake discs, springs, clamps, axles, screws and nuts...
- Building industry: In the building industry the zinc-lamellated coatings are outsdandingly suitable for a wide range of fastening elements, such as screws, nuts and washers, connecting elements, door-windows structures, plate like parts.
- Utility vehicles / bicycles / agricultural machines: The zinc-lamellated coatings mean considerable advantages on the filelds of utility vehicles, agricultural vehicles, and general mechanical engineering. Combined with thin layer thickness it is ideal for the protection of cross direction connections, cross parts, chain-links, brake handlers-levers, suspensive elements.
- Energy industry: By the components of the appliances used for producing renewable energy, which are exposed for extreme circumstances, therefore require proper protection against corrosion.
Our first coating appliance had been built primarily for coating fastening elements and small size metals parts (max. diameter 30 mm, max. length 100 mm), so we are looking forward to your inquiry in connection with parts falling into these product range and size interval.
